Training Program on Lymphatic Malformations

Connect with the field. Help move research forward.

Developed collaboratively by LMI, Lymphatic Malformation Alliance, and LE&RN, the program provides a structured introduction to lymphatic malformations—including primary lymphedema, cystic lymphatic malformations, and complex lymphatic anomalies—while complementing the training participants receive from their mentors and home institutions.

The Training Program on Lymphatic Malformations is a free, one-year educational program designed primarily for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, medical trainees, and others who are new to the field.

What You’ll Learn

Participants explore the classification, genetics, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of lymphatic malformations through:

  • 7 expert-led video lectures
  • 7 landmark scientific manuscripts
  • Short online assessments
  • Monthly virtual research seminars

The program is primarily self-paced, allowing participants to build foundational knowledge while continuing their existing research or clinical training.

Connect With the Research Community

  • Participants also join the Research Network, hosted by LMI and the Lymphatic Malformation Alliance, connecting them with scientists and clinicians working across the field.
  • Monthly virtual seminars provide opportunities to learn about emerging research, interact with experts, and develop collaborations within the lymphatic malformation community.
  • Because progress in rare disease takes more than individual discovery. It takes a connected research community.

Enrollment Verification Letters

Participants may request an official enrollment verification letter documenting their participation in the program for predoctoral, postdoctoral, career development, and other grant applications.

Certificate of Completion

Participants who successfully complete the program receive a Certificate of Completion from LMI, Lymphatic Malformation Alliance, and LE&RN.
