Dr. Carrie Shawber is a vascular biologist and an Associate Professor at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received her B.S. in Biology from UCLA, Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from UCLA, and Postdoctoral training in Cancer Genetics at Cornell Weill Medical College and in Vascular Biology at Columbia University. For the last 20 years, Dr. Shawber has conducted research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. Dr. Shawber’s translational research program aims to understand the pathobiology of human congenital lymphatic disorders and diseases, such as lymphatic malformations, congenital chylothoraxes/CCLA, generalized lymphatic anomalies, and lymphedema.
